Trip Portal
The mobile web app for trip participants. No download, no account needed.
What it is
The Trip Portal (also called the Scoring Portal) is where players:
- Score their group hole by hole
- See tee time, group, partners, format and strokes for today (My Round)
- Follow live standings, Ryder Cup matches and side games
- Add expenses, upload receipts and see who owes whom
- Share photos
- Follow draft night and, for captains, make picks when a draft is live
Organizers manage the trip from the dashboard; the portal is deliberately small.
Getting in
With a link
Organizers generate a personal link for each player from the dashboard’s Player Portal page. Open it once on your phone: the link is exchanged for a session that is stored on that device, so you can close the browser and come back without the link. Links are not single-use — open the same link on a second device and it works there too, as long as it has not expired.
- Links last 7 days by default; an organizer can choose up to 30 days
- An organizer can revoke a link at any time from Player Portal (for example, if it was forwarded to the wrong person)
- If a link has expired or been revoked, ask the organizer for a new one — regenerating replaces the old link
With an account
Players who accepted an email invitation can sign in and open the portal from their trips list. Account access does not expire while you are on the roster.
Getting around
A tab bar sits at the bottom of every page: Home, Schedule, Score (jumps straight to today’s active round, or the rounds list), Standings, and More for Analytics, Travel, Expenses, Photos, Series and Settings. Analytics holds the reports and audio the organizer has added to the trip. Pages inside a section, like a single round, show a back arrow in the header that returns to that section.
Organizers who are signed in also see a Trip Dashboard link at the bottom of the More menu. It opens the same trip in the dashboard, the mirror of the Player Portal button on the dashboard trip page. Players who came in through an access link, or who don’t belong to the organizing account, don’t see it.
Live scoring is the one full-screen mode: the trip header and tab bar step out of the way so the scorecard has the whole screen. Use the back arrow at the top of the scorecard to leave.
Installed as an app (see below), the portal reopens the trip you used last on that phone; signed-in players with nothing stored land on their live or next trip.
Home screen
- My Round — today’s tee time, course and tee, your group, who you are playing with (and against), the format and the strokes you get or give
- Quick actions for scoring, leaderboards, schedule, travel, expenses, photos, series history and analytics (the trip’s reports and podcasts)
- A draft night card, only while a draft exists: the date and time once it is scheduled, a red live banner naming the team on the clock while it runs (“your pick” for that captain), and a “draft complete” note until the organizer applies it. When no draft is set up the home screen says nothing about drafts; captains and trip admins set one up from Schedule → Set up a draft night
- Your teams for captains, vice captains and trip admins: the teams you run, grouped by competition (a Ryder Cup and a scramble each list their own teams), with an Edit button for the name, logo and colour
- Today’s schedule with active rounds highlighted
- Standings preview and Ryder Cup score when the trip has team play
Round cards on the Rounds page also show the first tee time.
Live round banner
While a round is in progress, every portal page shows a green is live — tap to score banner under the trip header. Tap it to jump straight to your group’s card. The card itself is full-screen; the back arrow in its header returns to the round page, where the tab bar and menu are.
Scoring
One phone scores the group. The scorer enters every player’s strokes for the hole; the inputs auto-advance, there are − / + buttons, and X records a pickup as net double bogey. At the last hole, Sign cards locks the group’s cards.
You can only score your own group unless the organizer turned on allow cross-group scoring for the round or you are a trip admin.
Full details: Scoring Portal guide.
Offline
Scores saved without a connection queue on the phone and retry automatically with backoff. A pending count shows in the header while anything is waiting.
If a queued score is older than a correction someone else already saved for the same hole, the queued score is discarded and you see “Another scorer updated this hole; showing their entry”.
Keep the score page open while you play — the portal caches what you have loaded, not the whole app.
Schedule
The Schedule tab is the day-by-day plan for the whole trip: tee times, flights, rental car pickups, hotel check-ins and check-outs, and dinners or other activities. It opens on today (or the next day with something on it), and you can filter by type. Flights and rental cars start hidden so the plan stays focused on golf and activities; tap the Flights or Cars chip to show them.
Tap a round on the schedule to open its round page: course and tees, the format, pairings with tee times (your group is highlighted), and the round’s skins and Nassau games. The button at the top follows the round’s state — Start round before it begins, Enter scores while it is live, Leaderboard once it is complete — and standings and games are one tap away in every state.
Anyone on the trip can add an activity with Add activity — a dinner reservation, a brewery stop, a spa slot. It shows up on everyone’s schedule immediately. Rounds and travel come from the organizer and from each player’s own travel entries.
Travel
The Travel tab shows who lands when, where everyone’s staying (with door codes and Wi-Fi where the organizer entered them), and the ride board.
- My travel — add your flight (or drive), and any rental car you booked. Only you (and trip admins) can edit your entries. Flight times are airport-local: type the times printed on your ticket (departs CLE 5:20 AM, lands ORD 5:57 AM) and the app keeps each leg in that airport’s time zone, the same way emailed itineraries are read. The zone is shown next to each time.
- Arrivals and departures — everyone’s flights in landing order, with a “needs ride” flag.
- Airport pickups — every rental car with its pickup time and open seats. The renter is the driver; they (or a trip admin) add players landing near the pickup, and anyone can grab an open seat or give it up. Adding a rental car is what makes you a ride — there is no separate “I can drive” switch.
- Ride board — tap I need a ride or I can drive. Drivers seat riders from the request list; riders can grab an open seat themselves and give it up later.
Series
If the trip belongs to a series, the Series tab shows the all-time standings (your row is highlighted), the timeline of every past trip, and course records across the series. Each trip on the History timeline lists its results: the champion and runner-up of the individual tournament, and which team won (or retained) the Ryder Cup, with the final score. A trip still being played shows who is leading instead. It’s read-only in the portal; organizers manage series links from the dashboard.
Standings
Leaderboards refresh over a live channel as scores arrive, with a 30-second refresh as fallback. Tabs cover the championship, each round, Ryder Cup, skins, Nassau and point game.
Expenses and settlement
- Add expenses with a photo or PDF receipt (up to 10MB), pick who paid, and split evenly, among selected people, or with custom amounts
- Your Balance combines shared costs with game money (tournament payouts and buy-ins, skins, Nassau)
- Settlements shows who pays whom once an organizer has generated the plan, plus My Payments with copy/share
- Trip Payments lists deposits or buy-ins the organizer is collecting, with Pay now when card payments are enabled
See Expense Tracking & Settlement.
Photos
Upload photos up to 10MB each and browse the trip gallery.
Settings
- My Handicap — update your own index (unless the organizer has locked handicaps for the trip)
- Display — Outdoor Mode (high contrast for sunlight)
- Notifications — push notifications for this device
- Input — haptic feedback
- Account — Signed In or Guest (link) status, Sign Out
- Data — Clear Local Data resets cached data and preferences on this device
Organizers who are not playing
A signed-in tenant admin or platform admin who is not on the trip’s roster can still open the portal and look around: home, schedule, rounds, round pages, standings, travel and series all work. Anything that needs a player — scoring, signing cards, side games, expenses, claiming a seat in a car, photos — asks you to add yourself to the roster first. Being an admin does not put you in the field; that keeps you out of the buy-in, the pot and the pairings until you choose to play.
