Troubleshooting

Solutions to common issues you may encounter.

Scoring Issues

Scores aren’t appearing on the leaderboard

Possible causes:

  1. Scores haven’t been submitted (only saved locally)
  2. Internet connection issue during submission
  3. Browser cache showing old data

Solutions:

  • Ensure scores are submitted, not just entered
  • Check internet connection and try submitting again
  • Refresh the leaderboard page
  • Clear browser cache if issue persists

Player can’t access scoring

Possible causes:

  1. Using wrong event link
  2. Not registered for the event
  3. Scoring not yet enabled

Solutions:

  • Verify the player has the correct scoring link
  • Check that the player is registered for the event
  • Ensure live scoring is enabled in event settings

Wrong scores displayed

Solutions:

  • Administrators can edit any score from the dashboard
  • Go to Scoring > Edit Scores
  • Make corrections and save
  • Changes are logged in the audit trail

Registration Issues

Players can’t register

Possible causes:

  1. Registration is closed
  2. Event is at capacity
  3. Registration link is incorrect

Solutions:

  • Check if registration deadline has passed
  • Verify event isn’t full (check waitlist settings)
  • Share the correct registration URL from your dashboard

Duplicate registrations

Solutions:

  • Go to Players in your event dashboard
  • Find and remove duplicate entries
  • Contact the player to confirm correct registration

Account Issues

Can’t log in

Solutions:

  1. Click Forgot Password to reset your password
  2. Check that you’re using the correct email address
  3. Clear browser cookies and try again
  4. Contact support if issue persists

Cause: Reset links work exactly once. Opening the link a second time, or opening an older email after requesting a new link, shows the expired page.

Solutions:

  1. Click Send a new reset link on the expired page (or Forgot Password on the sign-in page)
  2. Open the newest email only, and click the link once
  3. Choose your new password on the page that opens

Not receiving emails

Solutions:

  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Add our email domain to your safe senders list
  • Verify your email address is correct in account settings

GPS Issues

GPS says “Permission denied”

Cause: You declined the location permission prompt or it was blocked.

Solutions:

iOS Safari:

  1. Go to Settings > Safari > Location
  2. Find the site and change to Allow
  3. Refresh the scoring page

Android Chrome:

  1. Tap the lock icon in the address bar
  2. Tap Permissions > Location
  3. Change to Allow
  4. Refresh the page

GPS says “Signal unavailable”

Possible causes:

  1. You’re indoors or under heavy tree cover
  2. Location services are disabled on your device
  3. GPS hasn’t had time to acquire satellites

Solutions:

  • Move to an open area with clear sky view
  • Wait 10-15 seconds for the GPS to lock
  • Check that Location Services is enabled in device settings
  • Restart your browser and try again

GPS shows inaccurate distances

Possible causes:

  1. GPS signal quality is poor
  2. Course coordinates may need calibration
  3. Wrong hole selected

Solutions:

  • Verify you have the correct hole selected in the dropdown
  • Check the accuracy indicator (green = good, yellow = fair, red = poor)
  • Move to an area with clearer sky view
  • Compare against course yardage markers
  • Report consistently incorrect data to your tournament organizer

GPS says “No GPS data for this hole”

Cause: The course administrator hasn’t added GPS coordinates for this hole.

Solution: Contact your tournament organizer to request GPS data be added for this course.

GPS not showing at all

Possible causes:

  1. Feature not enabled for this event
  2. Course doesn’t have GPS data configured
  3. Browser doesn’t support GPS

Solutions:

  • Check with your event organizer if GPS is available
  • Ensure you’re using Safari (iOS) or Chrome (Android)
  • Try refreshing the page

GPS uses too much battery

Normal behavior: GPS typically uses 10-15% battery over 18 holes.

Tips to reduce battery usage:

  • Lower screen brightness
  • Close other apps
  • Disable WiFi if not needed
  • Bring a portable charger for back-to-back rounds
