Scoring Portal FAQ
Common questions from players using the trip portal.
Access
How do I get my portal link?
Your organizer generates it from the dashboard and sends it by text, WhatsApp or email. Open it on your phone. If you accepted an email invitation instead, sign in and open the trip — no link needed.
My link isn’t working
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Expired | Links last 7 days by default (up to 30 if the organizer chose that). Ask for a new one. |
| Revoked | The organizer cancelled it. Ask for a new one. |
| Regenerated | A new link replaces the old one. Use the newest. |
| Wrong trip | Check you have the link for this trip. |
Is the link single-use?
No. Opening the link stores a session on that device; you can open the same link on a second phone or tablet while it is valid. Do not forward it — it identifies you, and anyone with it can score as you. If it leaks, the organizer can revoke it.
How long does my access last?
Link access ends when the link expires (7 days by default, 30 at most) or is revoked. Account access lasts as long as you are on the roster.
Do I need to keep the link?
No. Once opened, the session stays on the device until you Sign Out, clear local data, or the link expires.
Scoring
Does everyone score their own card?
No — one phone scores the whole group. The scorer enters each player’s strokes on every hole. Anyone in the group can be the scorer, and you can swap phones mid-round; the server keeps the newest entry per hole.
Can I score for another group?
Only if the organizer turned on allow cross-group scoring for the round, or you are a trip admin. Otherwise you get “You can only enter scores for players in your group”.
How do I record a pickup?
Tap X on that player’s row. It is stored as net double bogey (par + 2 + the strokes they get on the hole) and scores zero Stableford points.
How do I fix a wrong score?
Tap the hole on the strip (or use the arrows), change the score, and save. If the cards have already been signed, ask the organizer to unlock the card from the dashboard.
What does “Sign cards” do?
At the last hole, Sign cards locks every card in your group. Nobody can edit them from the portal after that; an organizer can unlock a card for a correction.
Why did my score disappear after I reconnected?
Someone on another phone saved a newer score for that hole while you were offline. Your older queued entry was discarded and you were shown “Another scorer updated this hole; showing their entry”. Check the hole and re-enter if the group disagrees.
Offline
What happens when I lose signal?
Saves are kept on the phone and retried automatically. The header shows N pending or Syncing… until everything has uploaded. Keep the score page open; the portal does not pre-download the whole trip.
How do I know my scores uploaded?
The pending count in the header goes away, and your scores appear on Standings.
Scores won’t sync
- Check you have data (the pending badge is still there while offline)
- Wait — retries back off, so the last attempt can take a minute
- Open the hole and save again if a score is still missing
- If a save was refused (locked card), the organizer needs to unlock it
Standings
How often does the leaderboard update?
It listens for score changes live and also refreshes every 30 seconds.
How are ties shown?
Tied positions share a number with a T (T1, T5). Organizers can switch a tournament to a countback tie-break instead.
What do the colours mean?
Red is under par, blue is over par, E is even. There are no movement arrows.
Side games and money
Can I create a skins or Nassau game myself?
Yes — from Rounds → Games, any player on the trip can create one for the round. Team skins is not available yet.
How do skins carryovers work?
A tied hole carries its skin to the next hole, so the next hole is worth two, and so on until someone wins outright. A hole is only decided once everyone in the field has scored it (or the round is complete). See Skins & Nassau.
What is a press?
A new Nassau bet that starts mid-nine. With auto-press on, a press starts automatically when a player falls behind by the threshold (2 holes by default) — at most one automatic press per player on each nine.
Where do I see what I owe?
Expenses → Settlements and My Payments, once the organizer has generated the settlement plan. It combines shared expenses with skins, Nassau and tournament money. Wagers are shown but not included in settlements.
Device and display
Which browsers work?
Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android. Desktop browsers work too.
How do I add the portal to my Home Screen?
iPhone: Share → Add to Home Screen. Android Chrome: menu → Add to Home Screen / Install App. On iPhone this is also required for push notifications.
What is Outdoor Mode?
A high-contrast display for sunlight. Turn it on in Settings → Display; it is remembered on that device.
Haptics don’t work
Your phone needs a vibration motor and the browser must allow the Vibration API. Check silent mode and low-power mode.

How do I change my name?
Your name comes from the roster. Ask the organizer to change it in the dashboard.
How do I update my handicap?
Settings → My Handicap. Enter a plus handicap as +1.2. If the organizer has locked handicaps for the trip, the portal refuses the change.
How do I sign out?
Settings → Account → Sign Out. You will need your link (or account) to get back in.
