Trip Analytics & Reports

The Analytics page of a trip shows the standings, daily winners, head-to-head records and fun stats for the week. Organizers can also add reports to it, so a form guide, a recap or a podcast sits next to the numbers and opens without leaving SyncedGolf. Players get the same reports in the trip portal.

Reports

Reports appear in the Reports card at the top of the Analytics page. Only people on the trip can open them. A report is one of two things:

TypeFileLimitHow it opens
PageOne HTML file (.html)2 MBOn its own page inside SyncedGolf, with a link back to Analytics
AudioMP3 or M4A50 MBA player in the Reports card

Anything a page needs (styles, scripts, charts) has to be inside that one file.

Uploading a report

  1. Open the trip and go to Analytics.
  2. In the Reports card, choose Upload report.
  3. Enter a title, add a description if you want one, and choose the file.
  4. Choose Upload report.

Updating a report

Choose the Replace file button on the report and pick the new file. The report keeps its title and its address, so anyone who has it open or bookmarked gets the new version. A page can only be replaced by a page, and audio by audio.

Deleting a report

Choose the trash icon on the report and confirm. The report is removed for everyone on the trip and cannot be restored.

How audio is played

Audio is stored privately. The player uses a link that works for a few hours; reloading the Analytics page gets a fresh one. Members can play and seek, and the file is not listed anywhere outside the trip.

How pages are shown

The report is displayed in a sealed frame. It can run its own scripts, such as chart tooltips, but it cannot read anything from your SyncedGolf session. Links inside the report to other sites open in a new tab. The report follows your light or dark theme if the page was built to support both.

Reports in the player portal

Players tap the Analytics tile on the portal home page, or open the menu (More) and choose Analytics. The tile shows what is waiting, such as “1 report · 2 podcasts”. The page lists what the organizer has added:

  • Read: pages, which open inside the portal with a link back to Analytics.
  • Listen: audio, with a player on the page.
  • Links: pages hosted somewhere else, which open in a new tab.

The portal is read-only. Uploading, replacing and deleting are done from the dashboard. A player who opened the trip from an access link, without an account, sees the same reports as everyone else on the trip.

For a page hosted somewhere else, such as a photo album, add a link instead.

  1. In the Reports card, choose Add link.
  2. Enter a title and the web address. A description is optional.
  3. Choose Add link.

A trip can hold up to 12 links. Only web addresses are accepted (https:// or http://). Links open in a new tab. SyncedGolf stores the link, not the page, so share the page with the people on the trip wherever it is hosted.

To remove a link, choose the trash icon on it and confirm. The page it points to is not changed.
