Managing Notifications

Stay informed about everything happening in your golf events with the Golf Management notification system. This guide shows you how to view, manage, and customize your notifications.

Understanding Your Notifications

Golf Management sends notifications to keep you updated on important activities:

Score & Competition Notifications

  • Score Updates: When scores are entered or changed
  • Score Verifications: Confirmation that your submitted score has been verified
  • Leaderboard Changes: Movement in your position on the leaderboard
  • Competition Results: Final standings when competitions conclude
  • Skins Won: Notification when you win a skin

Event Notifications

  • Tee Time Reminders: Alerts before your scheduled tee time
  • Event Starting: When an event you’re registered for begins
  • Event Cancelled: If an event is cancelled or postponed
  • Event Updates: Changes to event details, schedule, or format
  • Registration Confirmation: After successfully registering for an event
  • Group Assignments: Your playing group or pairings assignments
  • Group Changes: Updates if your group assignment changes

Payment & Auction Notifications

  • Payment Received: Confirmation of successful payments
  • Payment Refunded: When a refund has been processed
  • Outbid Alert: When someone places a higher bid on an auction item you bid on
  • Auction Won: When you win an auction item
  • Auction Ending Soon: Reminders before auctions close
  • Raffle Won: If you win a raffle prize

Trip Notifications (Buddy Trips)

  • Expense Added: When a new expense is added to your trip
  • Settlement Requested: When someone requests expense settlement
  • Settlement Completed: Confirmation that a settlement has been paid
  • Wager Created: New wager or side bet created in your group
  • Wager Settled: Results of settled wagers

Viewing Your Notifications

Notification Bell

The notification bell icon in the top navigation shows your unread notification count. Click it to view recent notifications.

Notification Center

Access your full notification history:

  1. Click the notification bell icon
  2. Select View All to open the Notification Center
  3. Browse all notifications, filter by type, or search

Notification Status

  • Unread notifications appear highlighted with a dot indicator
  • Read notifications appear in standard formatting
  • Click any notification to view details and mark it as read

Managing Notifications

Mark as Read

Single notification:

  • Click on any notification to mark it as read
  • Or click the checkmark icon next to the notification

All notifications:

  1. Open the Notification Center
  2. Click Mark All as Read
  3. All notifications will be marked as read

Clear Old Notifications

Notifications are automatically archived after 30 days. To manually manage:

  1. Open the Notification Center
  2. Click the three-dot menu on any notification
  3. Select Dismiss to remove it from your list

Customizing Notification Preferences

Take control of which notifications you receive and how you receive them.

Access Notification Settings

  1. Click your profile icon in the top navigation
  2. Select Settings
  3. Choose Notifications from the menu

Choose Delivery Channels

Configure how you receive each notification type:

Toggle each channel on or off based on your preferences.

Enable or Disable Notification Types

Fine-tune exactly which notifications you want to receive:

Score & Competition

  • Score updates and verifications
  • Leaderboard position changes
  • Competition results
  • Skins won

Events

  • Tee time reminders
  • Event starting/cancelled/updated
  • Registration confirmations
  • Group assignments and changes

Payments & Auctions

  • Payment confirmations and refunds
  • Auction outbid alerts
  • Auction won notifications
  • Auction ending reminders
  • Raffle wins

Trips (Buddy Trips)

  • Expense notifications
  • Settlement requests and completions
  • Wager notifications

Setting Up Quiet Hours

Prevent notifications during specific times:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Find the Quiet Hours section
  3. Toggle Enable Quiet Hours on
  4. Set your Start Time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
  5. Set your End Time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
  6. Click Save

During quiet hours:

  • Push notifications are silenced
  • Email notifications are held until quiet hours end
  • In-app notifications still accumulate but won’t trigger alerts
  • Urgent notifications (like event cancellations) may still come through

Email Digests

Instead of individual emails, receive a summary of notifications:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Find the Email Digest section
  3. Choose your preference:
    • Instant: Receive emails immediately (default)
    • Daily Digest: One summary email per day
    • Weekly Digest: One summary email per week
  4. For digests, select your preferred delivery time
  5. Click Save

Note: Critical notifications like payment confirmations and event cancellations are always sent immediately, regardless of digest settings.

Enabling Push Notifications

Push notifications deliver alerts directly to your device even when you’re not actively using Golf Management.

Browser Push Notifications

  1. When prompted, click Allow to enable push notifications
  2. If you previously denied permission:
    • Click the lock icon in your browser’s address bar
    • Find Notifications in the permissions
    • Change from Block to Allow
    • Refresh the page

Mobile Push Notifications

For the best mobile experience, add Golf Management to your home screen:

iPhone (Safari):

  1. Tap the Share button
  2. Select Add to Home Screen
  3. When you open the app, approve push notifications when prompted

Android (Chrome):

  1. Tap the three-dot menu
  2. Select Add to Home Screen or Install App
  3. Approve push notifications when prompted

Tips for Notification Management

During Events

  • Enable Leaderboard Changes to track your standing
  • Enable Tee Time Reminders so you never miss your start
  • Consider enabling Auction Ending Soon if you’re bidding

For Trip Planning

  • Enable Expense Added to stay on top of shared costs
  • Enable Settlement Requested to promptly handle payments
  • Turn off individual expense notifications if using Daily Digest

Reducing Notification Volume

If you’re receiving too many notifications:

  1. Switch to Daily Digest for email
  2. Disable less critical notifications (like every score update)
  3. Set up Quiet Hours for uninterrupted time
  4. Keep only In-App notifications and check periodically
